The Vikings have signed guard Chris Reed to a two-year deal, details yet to be announced. Reed entered the league in 2015, out of Minnesota State University as an undrafted free agent signing, with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since entering the league, Reed has played with four teams including: Jaguars, Dolphins, Panthers, and Colts.

Over his career, Reed has played in 61 games, starting 29 of those. In 2021, Reed started 14 games for the Colts, earning a 67.2 overall PFF grade. This is an immediate upgrade when compared to Vikings Oli Udoh, who had a 54.8 overall grade, and was first among guards in penalties, with 16.

Reed brings a bit of a nasty streak with him, which has been missing from the Vikings interior offensive line. It's safe to say, that new General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is not shying away from creating competition to improve what has been a glaring weakness for the Vikings.
